With their malty heart in Great Britan but their hop curiosities in America's Pacific Northwest, Rhinegeist's Delux pale ale celebrates some of the best malt flavors in Golden Promise variety with the spunk of Mosaic and Amarillo hops that bridges tradition in pale ale with the avant garde of hops.
Within its bright amber glow and underneath its frothy white cap lies a scent of herb and toast. Leading with a bright botanical quality, it soon follows with nectarine, orange, mango and chive. But the malt flavors steal the heart of the early palate with smooth nutty, toasty, granola-like savory sweet taste.
As the middle palate unfolds, the sweetness relaxes gently and leaves behind a taste of cashew, savory bread crust and light toffee character. As the hops wash over the tongue, the flavor of white grapefruit and dried pineapple gently roll into the malts. Gradually, the beer's richer tropical flavor glides into mango, apricot and peach; eventually landing at a peppery resinous finish that's laced with herb, geranium and pine.
Medium-bodied, brisk and refreshing, the crisp and clean beer isn't without subtle complexity. Its finish is sharp and smooth- trailing with a grassy herbal-ness that's bright like fresh parsley and chive. Balanced but malt-forward, the classic British malts never relinquish the palate, insisting on tempering the hops even deep in finish and aftertaste.

On draft. Has a nice pale ale look. Smell is nice if not a little flowery. Taste is crisp and clear like a good pale ale. Feel is the issue with a flowery aftertaste that lingers but not in a ggod way. Overall a nice pale ale but nothing special.
