I tried this at the Daily Growler in Powell, OH. Poured a nearly opaque dark with thin head that did not leave much lace. The scent had hints of caramel and peat. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt presence and earth highlights. The mouthefeel was medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This solid Wee Heavy pours
a deep dark muddled brown with faint cola highlights and a nice head of light tan foam
that subsides to a thick ring, thin light pool, and shows some darn nice lacing. Nose of
lightly smoked peat laden malts, earthy malt notes, and a wafting chocolate mingling
with dark fruit. Flavors hit the mark with a mild peat laden malt and earthy brown sugar
notes dashed with a touch of chocolate malt and a hint of bruised peaches. A subtle herbal
hop note comes in on the rear to bring balance to the usual malt bomb of the style making it
lively in conjunction with the carbonation. Medium full body, medium light carbonation, and a
rich malt driven finish with well hidden alcohol.
Of note, this could easily be defined as a Scottish Stout and would fit the bill nicely.
Overall a SOLID little brew from a great brewer.
Cheers

Description: Very dark brown, ruby color. Almost black. About a finger and a half of tan head that looks like the foam on a chocolate milkshake. Smell is dark fruit with earthiness (straw?) and a hint of chocolate. The flavor profile wasn't necessarily complex but it was chock full of the flavors it did have. Dark fruits with a malty, bitter chocolate finish. I cheated and looked at the brewer's description which said there was honey in this. Maybe tasted that; there was an underlying sweetness but I don't know that I would have picked it out on my own. Feel was great. Very smooth and velvety, even more than some stouts I've had. Carbonation was low.

Overall: 4.25 (This beer is good and I would likely drink it again) First BA review of this beer...so much pressure...uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. This beer didn't have a 'wow factor' but it was darn good and close to being great. Super rich flavors and a great mouthfeel. I could see quaffing a big pint of this in a pub or sitting by the fire. Grab this one if you get a chance and drink without reservation.
