A fantastic experience from Quaff Bros brewed and bottled at Rhinegeist.
This pinot noir barrel aged (Patricia Green Pinot Noir) dubbel pours a ruby
tinged dark brown with a very nice head of off white foam that settles to a thick
ring, subtle light pool, and showcases nice light lacing. Nose of rich pinot noir
barrrel notes of pepper, grape must, oak, cherries, and brown sugars. Flavors
hit it out of the park with rich pinot notes of dark fruit, cherry, and peppery
spiciness tossed into brown sugar and oak notes. Excellent mouth feel; medium
low carbonation, subtle warmth, medium body, and a lightly tart and subtly dry finish.
Overall---this is one fine Grand Cru labeled but dubbel noted style that is a unique
and enjoyable adventure.
Of note it states this is a Dubbel recipe but labels it a Grand Cru.
Cheers
