Off at the crack of the bat, spikes dug in, exploding with speed – Hustle breaks the game wide open. This India Pale Ale takes a hard, hoppy cut at a soft, fluffy hanging curve, driving notes of peach, tangerine and citrus back, back, back...gone.

A beer with a nod to Pete Rose aka Charlie Hustle. Love it.
Pours lighter in color than expected and lighter in color to Truth which is a world class old school IPA.
Smells of light toasted grains with a touch of sticky sweetness. Hops give a solid whiff of orange flavored candy.
Taste is a smooth carbonated feel. Hops are of a more tropical fruit compared to the citrus and pine of the C Hop variety. A sticky sweetness from the grain as consistent with the smell. The bitterness is balanced rather than absent compared to more trendy IPAs these days. Finish has a bit of a danky skunk to it.
A nice beer from a great local brewery.

Poured into a tall clear pint glass. Clear straw color with more than a finger's worth of creamy white head, good retention and lacing.
Aroma: passion fruit, papaya, mango, pine, melon, cherries, apricots, tangerines, stone fruit, peach, biscuit, and caramel.
Tastes quite malty and doughy, also like soap suds. Lot of bitterness from some citrus rinds and pine. Not really tasting anything sweet, pretty bitter. Body is medium-light.

This has a great feel to it at least, kinda falls in that HUGE category of IPA's that are just decent but it's more likely I'd pick this one up again over some others

Scrappy notes from summer 2016.
12 ounce cans from Jungle Jim's Market.
50IBU Very good. Malt forward, a little bit creamy, very clean and fruity with some earthy qualities. Not a s hoppy as Truth and has a bit of a bready taste that weaves in. Fast hop finish. A very smooth and easy drinking ale that is very excellent.

12 oz can, dated 2/18/21, going, going, gone!
Into White Elm Willie.
Purchased from Red's in Nashville. Everything's a single (I love those stores)!
A slightly foggy though mostly clear light wheat-y blonde with a creamy cap of 2 fingers, leaving tons of lace as it recedes.
Aroma of fresh pine and grass, with melon, white cherry, apricot, and slight tangerine.
Flavor brings big malty sweetness up front - equal amounts of doughy pale malt and toasty caramel malt; pleasant grassy bitterness with nips of pine and vanilla; some tangerine, dried apricot, and grapefruit peel. This is super clean and super enjoyable.
Feel is crisp and semi-dry, though some syrupy quality comes through a bit; alcohol is detectable but kept in check, and continues on to the finish with lingering resins.
Overall a pretty dang solid IPA. This is a great example of a standard, no-frills American IPA. Haven't had a good one of these in awhile. Would definitely buy again if I saw it.
Price paid : $1.99 / can
