I had really high hopes for this beer when I saw it in the store. I had heard good things and that it was hard to get a hold of. So I bought a 4 pack and 3 cans have sat in my fridge for a couple weeks. I will finish them because this beer is not bad but it definitely fell short of my expectations.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 6/13/2018. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Slight resins/rinds lingering after the finish. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an excellent NEDIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Nice soft feel, not aggressive. Great Simcoe, Citra, Cascade, Mosaic, and Amarillo profile as expected. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops, with fruity Conan yeast; nice oat/malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

I got a 4pck of this from my local Meijer. It poured a hazy golden with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent was adorned with tropical citrus peel. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tropical fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Well, they tried something here, that's for sure. Beautiful to pour and look at....killer nose...but a flavor and feel with a bit of an unusual bite....not quite sure how I feel about it frankly.... probably just have another....

Nice golden in color, but not the hazy I expected. Nose is luscious and hints at orange zest and citrus goodness. Initial taste overwhelmed my palate with a salty flavor. Took another drink a few minutes later and didn't have the salty taste, but did have a hoppy flavor I like. Good beer.

Hazy IPA poured from a can into a Rhinegeist tulip. The appearance is gold in color, hazy as advertised, and crowned by about a finger of dense white foam. Fantastic nose on this beer. Very punchy with strong notes of ripe tropical fruit (lemon and grapefruit) and fresh linen.

Medium body with a firm feel and a hoppy flavor. For a beer with 40 IBUs it strikes me as quite aggressive in the hops department. Aggressive is fine, as long as the hop flavors are pleasant and not over-extracted. This one is very pleasant indeed. The flavor reminds me a little of Fat Head's Head Hunter. You get a strong dose of citrus fruit in the form of lemon, grapefruit, and a hint of orange, and you also get a little pine and cedar. The finish is nice and hoppy with lingering oily flavors. Definitely recommended. I'd buy it again.

12 oz can poured into a speigelau ipa Glass canned on 6/13

A: Not de tiny bubbled tight knit white head that slowly settles to a film. Body had some cloudiness but as it warned it cleared greatly. Body is a light amber burnished gold color.

S: Lots of apricot, cantaloupe, a little lemon and grass, and some yeasty hints on the finish.

T: taste is much more muted with more of a crackery malt base with light hints of fruit.

M: medium bodied

O: this is another average beer by Rhinegeist. They make some good ones they make some average ones nothing jaw dropping.

12 oz can poured into a snifter glass.

Yellow-orange, slight haze, big 3 finger head, nice lacing.

Melon, papaya, tangerines and a touch of herbal hops.

Sweet through the middle, dry bitter finish. Some alcohol but not offensive.

Active carbonation. Medium mouthfeel.

Pretty good but not a NEIPA. I prefer Truth over this. Glad I tried but nothing I would go out of may way to have again.

Canned on 6/13/18. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy golden with a fluffy white head that falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. Although it's hazy, it doesn't look like your typical "Hazy/New England IPA". The aromas are on the subtle side. Some citrus and floral notes. Crackers and malts are there. The flavors have nice hop flavors. Moderate bitterness. Nice blend of citrus and tropical fruits. More floral notes. Hints of pine. Alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid DIPA. They call it a "Hazy Imperial IPA", but it's really nothing like your traditional "New England IPA", if that's what you're expecting. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it doesn't drink like "juice". It's enjoyable stuff. I like it.

This is easily the best IPA I've had from this brewer.

It pours pale yellow with haze and a bit of fizz. The aroma is pungent hoppy. Outstanding. The taste is a malty, big IPA with loads of hops in for effect. This is an excellent big IPA.

Highly recommended.

A five year fascination with hops leads the Rhinegeist Brewery to the promised land of Simcoe, Citra, Cascade, Mosaic, and Amarillo hop varieties, and then builds them on a base of haze. Their fifth anniversary ale is certainly a party in the mouth.

Hazy goldenrod and topped with a creamy, cottony froth, year five jumps right out with a boistrous perfume of citrus, tropical fruit and a blend of spruce, herb and hemp. Creamy sweetness glosses over the tongue with notions of pastry, honey and a light caramelized nuttiness.

Lingering softly with malt sweetness and a mildly starched body, the hops fold into the grains with a rich tropical taste of mango and pineapple before zesty flavor of tangerine, red grapefruit and a spritz of verbena brightens the exotic fruitiness. Peach and cantalop bring even an orchard melody while the ale trends softly bitter with fresh spruce, green tea, sassafras and muddled botanical herbs.

Medium bodied and full of hop flavor, the bitterness is smooth while the fruit flavors reman lush on the finish. Spiced with a hint of gin and green tea, the anniversary ale lingers with a moderate extension of pine and tropical fruit peels.

Look - light copper hazy with sticky white lacing
Smell - citrus like grapefruit and tangerine and lots of resin
Taste - very light resin compared to the scent but lots of fruit. Has that tangerine and grapefruit like the scent but also some mango as well
Feel - medium body with a light creamy crisp bite
Overall - incredible beer, might be my favorite I’ve had by them
