A - Pale orange body, mostly clear, with white head, fades to a fluffy cap, lots of patchy lacing.

S - Strong hit of hop resin, citrus fruit, pungent zest.

T - Lush fruit, orange, pine, a middle mostly tart citrus reminiscent of fresh tangerines, and mild bitterness of pith in the finish.

M - Prickly carbonation and moderate weight, clean finish.

O - This is a very good brew, lovely and tasty. Easy to drink. Rock solid.

Pours golden and slightly hazy. Head is very white and dense, however it does dissipate quickly. Nose is very citrusy, almost orange juice like. Taste is very citrusy. Good beer.

Sequels never quite meet expectations when compared to their original counterparts. But Rhinegeist believes they can up the ante on their Alpha Squid with a hazy hop bomb that showcases the uniqueness of Idaho 7, Columbus, Citra and Huell Melon hops.

Frozen in a pale golden orange haze, Beta Guppy captures the senses with its radiant perfume of citrus, orchard fruit, melon and fine herb. Pulling through a creamy white froth, its taste is light with pastry, caramel, honey, candied cashew and shortcake, the early palate is first illuminated with malts.

With the malt sweetness lingering a bit on the middle palate, they bring out the sweeter fruit impressions from the hops. The orange flavors are more succulent, the peach tanginess is more radiant, and the honeydew is more juicy. As the grains eventually loosen their grip, the hops turn moderately spicy with light gin and curaƧao spice on the late palate.

Medium bodied and trending malty-dry, the beer's hazy influences are quite mild, trending slightly more of an old school midwest type of balance, but with a modern hop taste. A medium length afterglow of muddled citrus, verbena and hemp provide a refreshing bitterness lean and late.

Hazy IPA brewed with Idaho 7, Columbus, Citra, and Huell Melon. Poured from a can into a Triple Digit tulip. Light gold in color and quite hazy with an impressive 3 fingers of fine white foam with excellent retention. Bright citrusy nose with pleasant aromas of fresh oranges, pineapple, fresh linen, and lemon drop candies.

Medium body with a firm feel and a sharp, hoppy flavor. Very light graininess up front - almost undetectable - and a well-proportioned salvo of hops follow. I get flavors of orange zest, lemon drops, pineapple, and peach. The hops are tight and well-integrated here. This is not a palate-wrecker. Rather, it is for fans of bright citrusy beers with soft bitterness. My only gripe is the finish, which is rather short-lived and disappointing.

I love it when Rhinegeist releases these 4-packs of IPAs brewed with all manner of obscure, experimental hops. Idaho 7? Huell Melon?? WTF??? Do they have some guy on the West End growing this stuff in between his monkey grass and his Black Sabbath Master of Reality blend? Who cares. Just keep 'em coming!

Slightly hazy light orange color. Soapy white head that leaves decent webs of lacing. Faint smell orange flesh, cereal malt and grass. Taste is well balanced orange and citrus. Slight bitterness on the finish that does not built. Very easy to drink. Nothing earth shattering but pretty tasty. I would have again.

I'm trying this beer at Shorty's Pizza and Growl in Powell, OH. It poured a hazy yellow with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had fruit peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with citrus peel presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.
