Any lime flavor is so subtle to non existent to me, cereal grain taste, this one is probably the worst Ohio Mexican style lager I've had honestly. I'll take Great Lakes, Immigrant Son, Fatheads, Thirsty Dog, etc over this one.

Can dated 4-14-23. Sam Adams perfect pint.

A: pours a deep copper, crystal clear, modest visible carb. One finger off white head. Head didn’t stick around and no lacing to speak of. Really didn’t get lime on the nose, just a sensation of “freshness,” possibly a salty smell, but that might’ve been my imagination.

S: lightly toasted malt, mild honeyed sweetness. There is a brightness to the aroma, but if the can hadn’t said there was lime, I wouldn’t know that’s what it is.

T: Arrives toasty, slightly sweet across mid-palate, with a that same bright/acidic sensation, and then turns to a modest, noble hop bitterness that is just enough to clean it from the palate. Quite mild. Slight herbal character. The taste of lime really never breaks through; there is a definite acidity on the palate, but it’s not much, and there is the slightest hint of lime on the finish if you’re looking for it.

M: lighter end of midweight, but well-attenuated so it feels lighter. But the maltiness stops it from feeling thin. Lower carbonation than I’d expect.

O: I had a sampler of this last year and loved it. I bought a couple of single cans and love it more. It just comes off as a really refreshing amber lager. True to style as a Vienna lager, but with the slightest hint of lime flavor added. I could imagine pairing this with tons of foods, or having it just shooting the breeze watching baseball. Superb beer. Six-worthy.

With one foot in Vienna and one foot in Mexico, the amber lager is a flavor of migration and Rhinegeist tracks that pattern all the way to Southern Ohio. Made in the popular Mexican style, but traditionally of Austrian invention, the Vienna Lager is as unique as it is comforting to the palate.

Light copper and brown, Morelos quickly builds a light off-white froth. As a sweeter malt scent greets the nose, a toasted perfume of nuttiness, toast, citrus and honey step out. Equally as impactful on the palate, the first sip is also redolent of honey, toasted popcorn and bread crust.

As the ale flows across the middle palate, the sweetness slowly drifts and a hint of coffee pulls from the malt and provides a toasty semi-dry taste. Lightly bitter, the late taste carries a delicate hop bite along with a pep of citrus to finish things off.

Medium bodied but still crisp, refreshing and drinkable, its a sensible, drinkable lager that's simply built for taco weather for its malty-dry finish and its mild linger of toasted honey and lime.
