Data don't lie. Hit the buzzer, because the numbers are in: this is the most flavor you can fit into a 115 calorie IPA. Crisp, refreshing and unaccountably hoppy- You don't need a TI-84 to know Mathlete is a sum greater than it's parts.

Beer for people who went to Nationals in Quick Recall. This is what was being served on the crafts table when Hi-Q was on the air.

A - Pours a light straw yellow color, transparent, with a short white head, quick fader that leaves a very small cast, next to no lacing.
S - A bright lemon note, with a pine and dank hop note below. Not very nuanced.
T - Follows the nose, with sharp lemon snap, no real malt presence beyond a slight sweetness in the middle, then a softly bitter finish.
M - The key here is the feel delivers on the beer's promise - a slight weight, soft carbonation and clean finish means this is superbly crushable.
O - I like it, as it is quite easy on the tongue. I don't look for beers to crush after physical exertion (I drink water for that), but this one is nearly perfect for it.

12oz can canned 4/28/22 into a pint glass.
L: Pours staw light gold w/a soapy thin off-white head, light carbonation, no lacing.
S: Fairly tropical & fruity, bubble gum, a hint of honey.
T: Tropical fruits, light citrus, berries, grassy, a light sensation of yeast, citrus rind, gently sour.
F: A little fizzy, sprite-like, light bodied glassy & smooth mouth feel w/a fast slightly parching dry finish.
O: Assertive tasting and mellow feeling. It doesn't have a lot of depth. Fast, dry & quaffable. Good in it's low cal IPA style.

Poured into a tall clear pint glass. Appearance is a clear straw color with about a finger's worth of soapy head, decent retention and lacing.
Aroma: mango, caramel, honey, stone fruit, peach, passionfruit, and orange.
Tastes crisp and malty, spicy hops. Getting some grassy/straw notes in the mix, combined with the sweetness of the fruity notes mentioned in the aroma. Body is medium-light.

Creating a delicious low alcohol and low calorie IPA is a tall order ... Rhinegeist does a nice job here given that tall order ... Thin and lacking the hoppyness I crave, I think I have come to realize that if these folks can't do it nobody can ... I have found that the low ABV sours are the way to go for true session drinking

L: Pours light straw, a touch hazy, and 2 fingers of pillowy head. Persistent lacing. Appears well crafted.
S: Malts and tangy mango hops. Lovely on the nose, makes you want to come in for it.
T: Light. Crisp. Approachable. Very easy on the hops, but the hops that are there were loved and respected.
F: Sits on the back of the palate but not for long--Semi-Dry finish--There is a touch of lupulin oil present. Lightweight summer IPA, perhaps the next big thing?
O: Slammable like a bud light with a lovely flavor profile and a damn fine background to it.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured a pale slightly hazy yellow with white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had nice tropical fruit peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tropical fruit peel presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.
