This Imperial IPA devours a titanic amount of hops for a dense tropical profile loaded with pineapple, passionfruit, and just a bit of citrus on the tail end (see what we did there?).

12 oz cans canned 8/19/24 from a variety pk into a tulip glass.
I purchased this beer and tried it in early Oct. 2024.
L: SRM 4 pours 95% clear medium-light gold caramel color with light steady carbo, a 1/2" pillowy off white head that recedes to thick frothy and edge foam, medium lacing with light bands and broken sheeting.
S: lightly fruity, citrus, pineapple, hard candy, distant malts with warming.
T: Green melon rind, lychee fruit, distant hard candy, grains, very light alcohol with warming. Sweet on the lips and is moderately rich, gently sharp with a long, bitter aftertaste.
F: Brisk, slightly airy medium-bodied mouthfeel with a clean center that is smooth and glides into a medium to med-long lightly dry finish.
O: A silky smooth drinking powerhouse of a beer that has a lovely hop profile. It does not morph with warming except having a trace of alcohol. I enjoy its effects. Easy to drink and is outstanding.

12 ounce can dated August 19, 2024, roughly 4 months old and change. Still an excellent imperial IPA with vibrant hoppy flavor, even after all that time. Significant lacing on the glass, slightly hazy appearance, golden Amber in color. Chewy mouthfeel and excellent finish a really excellent imperial IPA.

A fingers worth of lush creamy light khaki colored froth with a good bit of big chunky bubbles mixed in... Color is a slightly pale and slightly hazed tangerine... Loaded with carbonation throughout... This pleasant nose of blood oranges, light caramel and crackers... Palate is consistent with the nose, but a bit more bitter overall than expected... Feel is medium bodied and rather dry with loads of carbonation on the tongue... Nice brew with lots of stellar character but not something I would likely revisit with any regularity...

I guess I'm the only one to find this in a regular old 12 oz can. From a mix pack even.

Look - clean basic IPA. Very light color but great head and wonderful sticky lacing.

Nose - I'm really impressed lately with some of these guy's IPAs avoiding the over the top sugary sweet elements so many IPA's have fallen into. Don't get me wrong...this is tropical fruits and pineapple with white cane sugar all day. It's not lacking sweat but it isn't that thick heavy caramel malt either.

Taste - Mango and mellon sugar over rich hops. Creamy clean goodness. This is a nice double IPA. Aggressive in the most "white" IPA form.

Yeah the name is weird, can is odd, and it's not what I expected. Thankfully, that's exactly what I guess i needed. Absolutely lovely double IPA. A bit too bitter on the end, just kinda a touch dirty and off, keeping it from getting an out of this world score. Still, I'd buy again and again.

Someone else noted the abv was a bit too noticeable, being that I mostly drink whisky these days, I may have missed that. But going back I can see it. I'm choosing to drop the feel down for that aspect. I just don't think it hurts the flavor here, but yeah it has a bit of a sting that I'd ignored before that comment and they're completely right.

19.2 ounce can, dating on the bottom is smudged but it was canned sometime this year. Gas station purchase, surprised to find this passing through Attica, Ohio but it was one of the few craft options there. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a mostly clear dark gold color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like grapefruit, pineapple, tropical fruit and some bready malt. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some orangey citrus. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. Thought it was a good overall brew, certainly worth trying if you get the chance.

Tall 19.2 oz can from Ohio with a 30 May 2024 canning date stamped on the bottom.

Typical appearance for the style with a clear golden body topped by a good white head.

This DIPA has 9% ABV all too evident in both the feel and the flavor.

Titanoboa brewed by Rhinegeist Brewery with an ABV of 9.00% This Imperial IPA pours out of a 19.2oz aluminum can into a pint beer glass. The color is a nice deep amber color with a nice white head. Lots of lacing to this brew, that sticks to the side of the glass. The smell is rich with hop bitterness, mixed with earthy grains and malts. There is also a slight sweetness in the smell as well. So far Titanoboa is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is bold with flavors. Lots of hop bitterness at first but the earthy grains an malts smooth it out. This is a well put together imperial IPA. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it is smooth. It is really hard to pick up on the 9.00% ABV in this brew, it is just that smooth. The mouth feels is Rich, Bold, Hoppie, Clean , Smooth an Refreshing. This Imperial IPA would go nice with a meal or a cool night. Overall I am going to give Titanoboa a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again given the opportunity too. Rhinegeist Brewery did a super nice job with this style of beer.

I got a 24oz can of this beer off the single shelf from the Sheetz Gas Station just down the road from my house. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had waifs of pine and citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt base with fresh pineapple, Stone fruit and pine resin presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

19.2FLOZ can
Served in an oversized, stemless, wine, glass

This beer pours amber with golden highlights and is fairly clear. It is topped with a couple inches of off-white head that leaves nice lacing.

Citrus with a slight medicinal smell. Alcohol smell is present.

Citrus and medicinal smell. Alcohol becomes more apparent as it warms.

Medium bodied with a biting mouthfeel

I like the 9% abv. It ain't bad. I bought it at Kroger, but I could see this being a nice gas station go to beer for me. At places like that I go for bang for buck.

Titanoboa ((Serpentus jesuschristus) ) is an extinct genus of constrictor snake. It is the largest snake ever discovered, with adults nearly fifty feet long and weighing 2500 pounds.

Fortunately, these slithering nightmares were clipped by Mother Nature more than 58 million years ago. Still too close if you ask me. Maybe they'd be okay if they fed exclusively on reality television producers or Kardashians.

Titanoboa the beer is an Imperial IPA clocking in at 9% ABV. It was poured from a large can (speaking of Kardashians) into a small snifter, where it lurked, and waited while I got distracted with something else and anyway it's pretty good. Malty sweetness is the overriding taste. In a world of big, complex IPAs, this one needs more bite.

Pours clean copper orange, foamy and carbonated. Aroma is sweet, alcohol/sugar. Upon the tongue, much sweeter than I’d prefer. Some floral and general citrus fighting for a presence, but the malts are too high in the mix. This should be expected somewhat from an imperial, but so many find a way to hold the malts at bay. Overall drinkable, but not something I’d get again.
