* Ale with Chambourcin grapes *
Skeleton Brut Red is a collaboration with our neighbors at The Skeleton Root, an urban winery located a mere bone's throw from the brewery. We cross-pollinated, literally - sourcing local wild yeast swabbed from a bee's knees - and brewed this dry, complex, and pleasantly tannic ale with grape must. We think Mr. Longworth would be proud.

Poured from 500ml bottle into a champagne flute. Quite pretty in appearance, with a clear rosé-colored body and a thin white head that dissipated in short order. The winey quality doesn't end with the appearance, either. Notes of white grape juice and sour apple abound on the nose and palate, with a hint of dill and lots of wild yeast funk. Umami notes on the palate obtain as well. Light in body, clean finish. I wouldn't hesitate to use this as a table beer. Overall, excellent.

1pt.9oz bottle shared. 2021 release.
Clear rose wine colored body, cloudy when last few ounces are poured. Little head, no lacing. Aroma of grape must. Taste is lightly tart and sour, a little grape, nicely mild. Finish is also an easy sourness, not long lasting. Overall, quite restrained all around.
