I got a 6pck of cans of this beer from my local meijer store. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had bitter citrus fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt base with bitter pineapple and apricot presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Pours a chil hazed gold with a finger of cream colored head. Good head retention on lacing
S; Very bready, Piney & hints of Green Melon once warm. Some mango and papaya once warmed up
T: Breadiness, some pineyness hints of pomelo up front. Dryness, green melon more pomelo as this beer warms up, some lime. Finishes dry cakey, with limes and a kiss of pine and Woody hops
MF: Fairly cakey low carbonation okay balance
Solid take on the style but seems to be suffering of it from age canned in November

A - Pours essentially transparent, with a golden body, white head, fairly quick to fade to a persistent fluffy cap, and extensive small bubble lacing in ropes across the glass.
S - Slightly sharp hop hit, herbal notes of oregano combine with pithy citrus, and just a hint of orange flesh.
T - Follows the nose, in that the pith, herbal aspect, and juiciness mingle throughout. The open is slightly juicy, grassiness and pepper notes in the middle, and a finish that has pith and a bit of warmth lingering through the close.
M - Moderate carbonation and weight, the alcohol is present but not pungent, and a fairly clean finish.
O - This bear is pretty direct, clean and enjoyable. It has a definite bite, but remains sufficiently approachable. Solid.

Like a sleeping bear just waiting to pounce, the seldom seen Imperial IPA is just waiting out the haze in order to rear its bitter head.
Glowing with a golden orange hue, Rhinegeist's Cave Bear billows with a cottony froth and a citrusy scent laced with spruce, candied sweetness and lighter tropical aromas. As the first sip looms, a sweeter tone is set with honey, caramel and soft breadiness for a softer introduction on the palate.
As the ale hits the middle palate, things turn hoppy with an emboldened taste of tangerine, pink grapefruit, lemon and pineapple. With hints of apricot, peach and cantaloupe adding a candied fruit taste, the ale soon turns pleasantly bitter with fresh cut herb, peppery pine and tea leaf.
Medium-full in body, the imperial ale is very drinkable albeit slightly watery in finish. Its longer linger of bitter resins remain balanced with persistent sweetness in a fruity and herbal aftertaste.
