Maracujipa is a citrous IPA. Old news, right? But instead of dry hopping, we add passion fruit into it, creating a hoppy and bitter fruit beer.
A classic American IPA, it has a citrous aroma powered by the passion fruit added at the secondary fermentation. So, maybe it's a Brazilian IPA. Very balanced, Maracujipa has a medium body and a beautiful orange color.

It was probably old, because there was no hop flavour, and most definately no passopnfriut in it!

A passionfruit IPA, you say? At 2 Cabecas, yes. From a 355 ml bottle (thanks Sergio!), on to the beer:
Where' s the head? It formed very low on the pour, but it doesn't take much time before it dissolves in a lace. The beer itself isn't an eye-catcher either, looking a somewhat murky orange with hues of muddy orange. It has a decent aroma, where you can smell resiny hops and sweet passionfruit pulp. At some points, I wasn't sure if I was about to drink a beer or a freshly-made juice.
Despite a resinous hop aroma, its taste isn't very bitter. It could be the passionfruit adding a little extra sweetness to this beer. Bits of toffee crisp break into the flavor. I get a kiss of candied orange too. The beer is medium bodied but feels lighter due to its low carbonation.
The success of HI-5 set my expectation high. MaracujIPA doesn't quite hit that spot, but it is a more than decent ale.

Presumed to be brewed with the native maracuja fruit, but have no idea what that is.
Hazy dark orange, beige head, finger, plenty lace, nice retention.
Aroma was mostly fruity, some citrus, sweet fruits, strawberry, sweet bread crust malts.
Taste was fruity, mango, papaya, pineapple, orange, light cereal malts, medium bitterness from the 75 IBUs. Finishes clean. Mild warming alcohol.
Creamy medium body, light carbonation. Drinkability is good.
It's good. My first ipa while in brazil and its definitely hit the spot.
