2016 GABF SILVER MEDAL WINNER IMPERIAL STOUT
The heaviest beer in our arsenal, this imperial stout is rich and complex with variable amounts of roasted malt character that makes for a delicious balance of coffee and dark chocolate flavors. Its full bodied velvety texture holds nothing back on the palate and has become arguably one of east county’s favorites.

a recent trade extra...was popping a bunch of extras and odds n ends tonight and this one fit the bill. one of the few non drain pours. fairly solid impy stout. big robust roast over cocoa powder. mild bitterness from chocolate. all in all a solid offering but not mind melting.

Very dark foam on the black-brown beer. Big aroma of cocoa and mint. Winey mouthfeel, even some acidity. Surprisingly watery body.
Dark and malty, but not overly sweet. The dominant flavor is seriously roasted grain. Tastes like very strong coffee with bitter chocolate. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Barons Market in San Diego.

pours very dark, thin, persistent head. smells of dark roast coffee, just a very faint sweetness. flavor is rich, mostly roast malt and coffee, but there is some hop on the finish. surprisingly easy to drink for such a big stout.
overall, this is a very good stout. highly recommend.
