I visited Poor House Brewing while in San Diego a couple of weeks ago. It has a very DIY, neighbor's garage kind of feel to it, with the brewhouse right behind the bar and eclectic furniture. The walls open up to the outside, which is great, and give the place some needed light; otherwise it's pretty dim inside. On the day I was there, they had sports on the TV and there were a few regulars there; the service was prompt enough but not particularly outgoing (to me, anyway).
They had 11 of their beers on tap, plus four seltzers, and will make you a michelada with any of them if you like. Beer styles included dry Irish stout, imperial stout, Mexican lager, a sour farmhouse ale, blonde ale, brown ale, pilsner, American pale ale, West Coast IPA, and a couple other IPAs. The quality of the beer was a little uneven; not bad, but not my favorite of the trip.

Small store front brewery with Z-shaped bar amply counter space... pool table and shuffle board. Place has a Key West biker bar vibe. About 20 beers on tap. Solid beers and service.

The epitome of hit and miss. Ive been here and had some stellar beers and Ive also walked in, looked at the menu and walked right back out. The flagship beers here arent the bee's knees - they're alright. The specialty beers is where this place shines and they have some really good ones. Panty Dropper, for instance, is a great high ABV cinnamon flavored beer but its only on tap about once a month and runs out in a day or two. Thats the problem here, its not uncommon to walk in and see everything that sounds great have "OUT' written next to it. Seems like they need to expand output to meet demand.
I will say, however, that Ive always had friendly service here and they even kick down free pizza on Thursdays.

Poor House Brewing was my second brewery I visited during my stay in San Diego. It's literally 1/2 block from Fall Brewing. This place had a more grungy feel to it. But, in a good way.
I had a glass of their stout. It was quite good. They also had a food truck on the street.
There was a pool table to the side for those that want to play some games. Seating area was along the wall and the bar area. I did enjoy my visit here.
