This was muled to me by a mate who had visited San Francisco in October 2024. I drank this beer in November of that year.
L: Clear amber in the glass, with a thin rim of bright-white head and large, slow-moving bubbles.
S: Citrus peel, grapefruit, and orange headline the aroma.
T: All the citrus peels are again evident in the mouth, giving a pithy, dank citrus kick to the flavour profile. There's fruity goodness in here, but the darkness is enough to ensure that the peel-driven bitterness is the headline act.
M: The beer's body is smooth and sherbety. Carbonation is low to medium.
O: I really liked this one. As I get older and drink more modern pale ales, my appreciation for dank, bitter beers grows.
Cheers!
