Classic red-amber color with a modest foam. Not much aroma. Just a touch of malty sweetness and a bit of caramel. Some roasted malt flavors followed by the resiny hops. Even a sourish touch.
This is pretty much the classic Amber Ale. Not one to inspire. Hops are somewhat restrained. But the aftertaste grows tiresomely bitter without much hop aromatics. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at The Market in Anacortes, Wash.
