355ml can poured into tulip 5/12/15

A murky pale orange liquid, enough clarity to see a couple bubbles that feed a finger of well sustained finger of foam that leaves a few random patches

S heaps of spicy yeast jumps at ya, some tropical fruit, pineapple juice, bruised mango, soft caramel, some pepper and clove, more yeast, orange rind, lots of hops but the yeast keeps them in check

T pine and lemon rind, less tropical fruit but still plenty of yeast, a little toned down compared to the nose

M medium weight, explodes in the mouth without turning to foam, bitter but manageable, a little gritty at first but after the liquids gone shes slick

O I rather liked this one, a nice mix of yeast hops and its somewhat refreshing over 6%, I'm just wishing it was a little cheaper, nearly 20$ for a local 6er seems steep

Not sure if I'll see this one again as I think its a one off, too bad. I don't think the labels loud enough with the Dr Evil with a coke problem, WTF came to mind

Since as they used true Trappist yeast from the Orval monastery, this Belgian IPA is done much better than many that I've tried. My only problem being that Trappist yeast in remarkably strong in flavor and in this case overpowers the delicious and aromatic hops that are in the beer. Still great and I would try again, but I'd like to see them release a Dbl. IPA with the same yeast so you could get more of the hop character.

16oz glass at the Underground in DT-YEG. Not quite too sure as to the meaning of the name here - is it maybe yeast pitching related?

This beer appears a rather hazy, dark apricot amber colour, with one chunky finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly ecru head, which leaves some wilting cabbage lace around the glass as things quickly subside.

It smells of estery Belgian yeast, semi-sweet grainy caramel malt, mild white and black pepper dust, a bit of dark, aged pome fruitiness, and some leafy, weedy, and herbal hops. The taste is more grainy, gritty caramel malt, a hint of sea water, mildly biscuity toffee, subtle pine needles, overripe generic citrus, kind of sublimated yeast, and a further leafy, herbal, and softly perfumed floral hoppiness.

The bubbles are nice and active in their swirling and probing frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and mostly smooth, as the hops here seem more flavourful than bitterly engaging. It finishes on the sweet side, the yeast-tinted caramel malt starting to slough off any other hangers-on.

A decent example of a Belgian IPA, wherein the hops and yeast don't clash, they merely work alongside each other to ultimately make me, the beer drinker, happy. Not too bitter, not too acrid, and not too disjointed, which is praise from this localized Caesar, of a sort.
