Creamy, roasty, coffee-y and just the right amount of sweetness. Cake Is A Lie is a fantastic beer and, not surprisingly, one of Intergalactic's most popular. The beer pours an orangish yellow with little head. The faint smell of coffee is a bit deceiving because theres more beans in your cup than your nose lets on. Its smooth, medium bodied and feels more like a 5% beer than its actual 7%.
If you have the ability to make it to one of their "Cake Is A Lie Day's," go. They experiment with some fun limited varieties that are delicious in their own right but also make you appreciate the core beer even more. Id love to try a barrel-aged variety some day.
