May 21st, 2015 - A strawberry beer? Checks out. The aroma is marked by the strawberry, bright and candied, with pear and apple juice, and exceedingly sweet. This is an international beverage reference but it smells a lot like Qu juice, a drink marketed to children in Japan craving a pound of refined sugar in their afternoon tipple. As for the flavor, it reminds me of angel food cake but with a slight tartness and a healthy acidity. This features more of the Qu juice pear flavor, so still sweet, but not quite as cloying as it could have been.

Thanks to BigTuro for sharing this one at hopodyssey's tasting.
Pours a murky whitish-orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with grain, strawberry, and earth aromas. Taste is much the same with sour grain, strawberry, and strawberry jam flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with solid sour strawberry qualities that are slightly better in the taste.
Serving type: bottle.
