Our emblematic gnome rambles across the mountains in all seasons, summer and winter alike. With his stick and his mammoth waistcoat, he regularly climbs the 6666 meters up Mt CHOUFFE, to breathe in the fresh air of the perpetually snow-covered peaks.
Once he reaches the summit, he likes to pour himself a Chouffe and admire the view.
"Grouff, grouff ?" an inquisitive, shaggy-haired yeti, recognising the sound of beer being poured, approached timidly. "Chouffe ! ... not Grouff !" Marcel told him. The white landscape inspired Marcel to call his new beer, which is so refreshing, smooth and spicy: Chouffe Blanche!

Bought at a Sawa City in Kigali Rwanda.
Smell is heavily bubblegum and some spice within. More sweet. Straw. Pie crust malt throughout.
Taste is banana bread, slight sweetness, lemon, clove, green apple.
Feel is really nice. Not overly carbonated like some examples of this style, but still light and refreshing.
I want to say surprising, but Chouffe us usually solid. A really nice take on a style that can be hot or miss for me at times. Refreshing but very flavorful.

Pale, straw-yellow body; very slight haziness; beautiful carbonation, dense and slow rising; thick, billowy head, white and sticky; firm, spongy rings of foam step down the glass. Nice aroma; wheat and cracker; very faint note of citrus and other esters; slighter note of barnyard funk. Cloves and anise hit the taste buds; cereal grain malt presence in the background; wheat-like; moderate bitterness with a mild phenol edge. Beautiful mouthfeel; soft with a delicate sponginess; moderate, sublime overall dryness.
A most righteous witbier, with an interesting and satisfying blend of wheat graininess and softness with additional quiet fruitiness and a dry-like finish. Yes, a fantastically light yet filling beer...

Not the best beer in the world, obviously, but for me the best Blanche I have ever tasted. From the tap, a thick layer of creamy foam, tiniest bubbles you've ever seen, aromatic, refreshing... Big fan of Hoegaarden and Blanche de Brugges during summertime, this one wins both (and even the Chouffe Blonde and Chouffe Soleil: if I were them, I would replace both for this one). Went for one for research, ended up having four :-)

Got in a trade with Shanex. 330ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 5/2021. Pours lightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, pear, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, light banana/bubblegum/clove, wheat, cracker, white bread, wood, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and yeast spiciness on the finish. Slight wheat tang/tartness. Lingering notes of lemon, pear, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, light banana/bubblegum/clove, wheat, cracker, white bread, wood, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, earthy hops, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance and no lingering hop/spice astringency. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an awesome witbier. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, earthy hops, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink for the ABV, with the nicely soft wheat finish. A really enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected of the brewery.

Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served in a Chouffe glass. Hazy golden colour, medium head with long retention, sticky lacing. Aroma of banana, clove, citrics, coriander, apples. Medium body, slippy texture, good carbonation. Spicy finish. Taste is similar to the aroma, with cloves being more present. Very good wit.

De Belgiuminabox. En copa Teku. Jugando a Arsenal con Rodrigo. Muy buena y peculiar wit: superaromatica, con mucho sabor y un feel extraordinariamente suave y cremoso.

I poured it into my Chouffe proper tulip, leaving a two inches white head fading quickly.
The color of the beer, for a Belgian witbier is orange, pretty opaque.
On the nose, hints of coriander and lemon.
On the palate, following the nose, lemon, coriander and citrus notes are noticeable. It’s only a 6,5% abv beer that drinks very easily and it’s important to me to point out doesn’t leave me those obnoxious « acid reflux » which make that some witbier are a no-no. This is well balanced between light bitterness and a very refreshing, slightly sweet finish.
Moderate carbonation and a light body as expected again, from the style.
Overall, an excellent witbier, a style you either love or abhor. This could be a nice « getaway » beer to start enjoying say style. Hooegarden for instance isn’t a beer I dig much. This one has won my heart.
