Strong whiskey smell and character, and that's a good thing. On tap only.

Thanks to Coronaeus for this, from his NBS BIF 12.5 box. Consumed on the longest night of 2020. 500ml bottle poured into 14oz teku. Poured a solid black color with just a thin cap of tan head that immediately dissipated to a thin ring and left no lacing.
Some bourbon and wood at the front of the nose. Some faint spices I can't quite identify around the edges. Nice base malts, with a touch of roast provide the foundation.
Pretty similar on the tongue, with everything being a bit bolder. There was a touch of alcohol across the middle-back. The roast notes lingered a few moments on the finish.
The body was medium-full, smooth (except for a wee bit of alcohol bite), and had a semi-sweet finish.
Drinkability was very nice, but this is a sipper, not a quaffer.
Overall, a very interesting and enjoyable brew. a must-try if you gett he chance.
