On draft at L Mulligan Grocer, Dublin.

Ruby black with tan film that trails.
Dates and raisins make a very dark nose.
Cola, more dates, licorice, black grapes, a bit of ash and some soil - no noticeable hops.
Welch's finish and tarry linger.
Medium to full, big chew, round, no burn.

No coffee or chocolate like usual from the US, just loads of black malt/dark fruit notes. Almost more a Belgian stout that way, even if I didn't know if was (guest-) brewed there. Quality, though I'm not sure I enjoyed it.

None more black.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that died down and left patches of bubbles on the surface, a collar around the edge, and thick lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Faint aromas of licorice are present in the nose.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell but seems a little stronger and more complex with additional hints of dark and chocolate malts. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and has interesting aromas and flavors of licorice, which seems to be unique for the style.
