Cloudy deep red-amber colour. Heady syrupy sweet aromas, spicy hops and sweet dense bready malts. Tastes heavy of syrup, black currant, and has a slimey mouthcoat. Distinctly alcoholic underbody but still deceptive for its 10%. Aftertaste is syrupy but detectable earthy and piney-resiny hops. Lingering grainy rye finish. Little carbonation, and true to rye wine profile. Delicious sipping beer.

Deep orange with parchment film. 3.75
Candied orange nose with maybe a touch of oxidation. 3.5
Big boiled sweets up front then huge bright citrus hops with just a hint of rye if you look for it. 4.5
Rindy finish and sherbety linger.
Medium, round, sticky, hot. 4
Target, Bramling Cross, Bullion, Simcoe, Nugget, Chinook
Holy yum! Hugely juicy fruit Pastille hops, almost like candied tangerine. Not sure how they get this flavor profile from those hops (which are neither American or big on aroma), and can’t imagine the aroma if it hadn’t been laid down by the brewery for 6 months. Still hot enough (at 10%, how could it not be) but dangerously drinkable. 4.5
