Poured from a conditioned bottle. It was very carbonated, clear yellow with a large, white head.
Smelled wheaty with a slight tart/sour aroma with earthy, slightly spicy, hops.
VERY carbonated with a very mellow flavour when compared to the smell. Dry, slightly tart with a slight hint of wheat in the aftertaste.
Would I buy it again? Probably not.

*from notes
Glowing cloudy chiffon with heaps of glass noodle webs of lace that fade to a film. 4
Snappy phenolic smoke nose with some cream of wheat and maybe lemon zest. 3.75
Crusty white loaf, a whack of light oaky smoke, very slight cheesey sourness, lemon balm, and an herbal end. 4
Noble bite to finish and lemon boiled sweet linger.
Cream, fizzy, light, crisp. 4
Smoke is very judicious, and it’s clean white smoke - no peat here. I’m wondering where the lemon is coming from - 30 IBUs is pretty high for any traditional Euro lager style (except pils) so I suspect they might’ve gone a bit American with the hopping. An I understand Gratzer is sometimes tart, but not so much here - tough to see where smoke ends and sour might start. Clean, if overly simple, and a good intro to the style. 3.75
