330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.1%. Very dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Huge beige head that lasts "forever". Aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse and red wine, hints of chocolate. Fairly smooth and moderately roasty flavour with notes of chocolate and mild coffee, also brett notes, but not really sour. Pleasant to drink.

My experience with this beer was nothing like the other reviewer. It literally smelled and tasted like licking a horse. I imagine I got a bad batch because this was absolutely disgusting. Had to drain pour. I might try it again to see the difference, but only if someone else is buying!

330ml bottle. Apparently a 'black brett ale', so a Cascadian Dark Wild Ale, then?
This beer pours a murky, very dark chestnut brown hue, with three fingers of puffy, bubbly, and finely foamy beige head, which leaves some chunky drooping cloud lace around the glass as it slowly sinks away.
It smells of sour, funky, slightly cheesy yeast (hello, Brett, good to see you again), meaty roasted caramel malt, a bit of sourdough, lemon and orange citrus pith, semi-sweet black licorice, a touch of grainy wood, and soft earthy, leafy hops. The taste is more roasted, toasty grain up front, some middling bready caramel notes, dry tanned leather, astringent citrus peel, chalky powdered coffee, a soft lactic sourness, and yup, some hovering musty horseblanket funk.
The carbonation is somewhat peppy, and generally supportive, in a lurking sort of manner, the body an adequate medium weight, and smooth, I suppose, but with a sidling acrid edginess, origin hard to discern. It finishes off-dry, the roasted malt still most prominent, with the citrus and emerging berry fruitiness rounding things out, all countered by the lingering Brett funk and herbal hoppiness.
More of a sassy ABA, than anything overtly wild, or intentionally infected tasting. The Brett is there, sure, but the hops and the blackened malt seem happy to make it a party unto themselves - this weird guest just sort of blends into the crowd, which is hardly a bad thing here.
