I tried this at the brewery. It poured a clear dark amber with white head that left some lace. The scent had earthy malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with peat and roast malt base and slight bitter hop highlights. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

750mL bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Amber color with a two-finger head
S: Lots of roasted/amber malts, caramel but also a hoppy bite
T: Malty, nutty, a hint of caramel, generic hops and a bit of earth/warming spice
M: Medium-bodied, a bit spicy
O: "Winter IPA" is new to me. I'd describe it as a hoppy amber. I could see this being enjoyable during the colder months but it's just as nice during the summer

750 ml bottle. Served in a DFH IPA glass, the beer pours a hazy dark brown color with a couple inch frothy tan head. Head retention is excellent, and there's a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like spicy/earthy hops, caramel and bready malt, and a bit of coffee. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some fruitness and a bit of licorice noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and is also well carbonated. I liked this brew, it's certainly worth trying if you've never had it before.

This beer has excellent drinkability and mild but full flavor. It is not hop heavy and could just as easily be a Porter as it could an IPA, in my humble opinion. Overall, I was very happy with this one. Anything that comes out of Actual Brewing is going to be worth a look.
