750ml bottle #108/300 poured into a pint glass
A: Slightly hazy amber color with a thin head that disappears quickly
S: Lots of malt vanilla and bourbon notes but not a ton else
T: Matches the nose - lots of malt, pure vanilla and some vanilla on the finish
M: Medium-bodied, very smooth and very creamy
O: I like this and the barrel aging treated it very well. That being said this could go from very good to great if the underlying beer (which I have yet to try) had more complexity before the barrel contribution

750 ml bottle, bottle #130 of 300, best before March 2015. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a mostly clear reddish/amber color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like bourbon, vanilla, toffee, caramel malt and a bit of dark fruit. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some nuts and earthy/woodiness noticeable. The bourbon is there, but it's not overpowering at all. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and a bit creamy with moderate carbonation. I thought this was a good brew, now I'll have to try the regular Elektron soon. This is kinda pricey at $14.99 a bottle (but then it was aged in bourbon barrels for 6 months), but I think it's certainly worth picking up!
