This has been mellowing in my basement for a year and it's time to get this baby out.
I pours medium red tan with very little head. It has a yeasty fruity aroma. The taste is nicely settled in but fairly simple. It sits a slightly sweet, yeasty but not too funky (just a bit). It is pretty flat.
I know very little about this brewer, but I don't think I would go out of my way for more of this.

Enjoyed from the 22 oz bottle in a JAFB snifter. This abbey ale pours a lightly cloudy dark copper with a moderate head of white foam that settles to a thin layer, modest ring, and very nice lacing. Nose of bananas, light clove, sweet fresh bread, raisin, and Belgian candy sugars. Flavors follow the nose with fresh bread and light raisin notes to the front that mingle with candy sugar to the middle. Subtle earthy yeast notes on the back mix with banana and light clove keeping the flavors together and in check against the sweetness. Excellent mouth feel, effervescent and lively, that finishes subtly dry and lightly tart. Very nice.
Love this brewery. Columbus has some true class acts, especially Actual Brewing.
Cheers

750 ml bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy burnt orange/amber color with about an inch and a half off-white head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like cloves, dark fruit (raisins, prunes), bready malt, Belgian yeast and a sweet spiciness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dried fruit, sweet apples and caramel noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy with a good amount of carbonation. The soft carbonation helps make it smooth and easy enough to drink. I thought this was a good overall brew, I wouldn't mind trying this again in the future. $7.99 a bottle.
