Relax! Let this beer remind you that there’s more to life than the hustle and grind. This classic New Glory brew is a sessionable alternative to those heavy-hitting IPAs out there. We start with 2-row malt and flaked oats, and then add Citra and Simcoe hops. You’ll enjoy a creamy palate with flavors and aromas of bright, juicy citrus and tropical fruit. As Ace Ventura says, “If I’m not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer.”

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and leaves some nice lacing.

S: Tropical and stone fruit, ripe citrus, floral notes, a touch of pine, crackery biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Bright juicy citrus, tangerine/orange and grapefruit with a touch of lemon, tropical and stone fruit, peach, mango, passion fruit, apricot, and faint hints of pineapple, floral notes, a touch of pine, crackery biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate.

O: It feels a little weird saying I was excited to try a session IPA, but I'd heard some good things about this one and it had previously eluded me. My excitement wasn't at all misplaced. This is pretty much exactly what I want in a session IPA. Bright and flavorful, yet light and easy drinking. No trace of the classic watery finish I usually find in most session IPAs. I wouldn't be surprised if the haze treatment helps in that department. Overall, really enjoyable beer that happens to be a session.

Can dated 01/04/18 into a tulip.

L: Light golden haze with 3 fingers of low density white head with moderate retention and left hints of mixed lacing.

S: Tropical and earthy greenness, floral and citrus undertones. Normally those attributes would be highly desirable, but there's something that I didn't care for in the mix.

T: Follows the nose, feels like the Citra and Simcoe are fighting rather than meshing. Finishes with mild bitterness and astringency, clears palate quickly.

F: Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation, slick on the tongue but with slight creaminess. Slight tinging of the lips from the carbonation.

O: For my palate and preferences I didn't feel this beer was cohesive. It's OK, but the rest of the 4 pack will likely be pawned off on friends in the parking lot at the ski resort this weekend.

No canned date, but recently brewed and distributed

Appearance - Pours hazy and straw yellow in color with a white, fluffy one-finger width head. Fair retention, resulting in a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Fair lacing, with a few broken lines and a spot or two found around the glass.

Smell - Moderate juicy aroma, hitting on notes of citrus, pineapple, lesser passionfruit and mango, with a hint of spice. Very faint bready undertone.

Taste - Not as juicy as the nose would suggest. Mellow notes of honeydew melon, ripe banana, pineapple and light spice. Faint breadiness sits well beneath, showing up by mid-taste.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with moderate carbonation. Slick, somewhat creamy mouthfeel with a semi-dry finish.

Overall - Good brew, but it didn't do much to excite my taste buds. As far as NE-style IPA's, it's one of the weaker ones I've had. Not unexpected though, since it's also a session. For the price I think I'd pass on buying it again, but I'm glad I tried it.

It's nice to see so many Cali breweries going for the NE haze craze. This is definitely one of the prettier beers I've had recently. Golden orange with a pillowy white head. Smell was very bright, citrusy, and pineappley. Taste was similar, but with a nice hop bitterness on the finish. Saw a 4 pack, but only got 1 can, since there weren't too many reviews on it, a blunder on my part.
