A gift from a friend, came highly recommended. i found this essentially undrinkable at any temperature. The smell has this caustic chemical nature to it reminiscent of paint thinner or gasoline. Maybe i got a bad can, but everyone at our tasting hated it

Appearance - Pours jet black with cola brown edging where light can penetrate. Dark tan, half finger width head that displays sub-par retention, dissolving to a mostly barren surface and a fair ring of suds around the edge of the glass.
Smell - Deep chocolate aroma with an almost floral vanilla secondary quality. Faint roast.
Taste - Follows the nose. Chocolatey notes upfront, vanilla and an odd floral quality. Black liquorice hits mid-taste along with some roast. Roast strengthens in the finish, giving the chocolate and black liquorice notes some competition.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with low-to-moderate carbonation. Silky, slightly syrupy texture with a faintly boozy, drying finish.
Overall - I'm not quite sold on this one. While it has some tasty qualities, there's also some notes in here don't mesh all that well. As with the original variant, it drinks stupid smooth for 15.2%, but I don't think I'd go for this one again, even with a better price point. The original was better, but not by much. It makes me question whether I'll be interested in the upcoming BA variant.
