Can poured into a snifter
A: Pours dark brown nearly black with a frothy khaki head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Maple jumps right out of the glass followed by roasty malt, earthy char, a hint of smoke, molasses, coffee, baker's chocolate, peppery spice, faint toasty notes, and a little burnt sugar.
T: Roasty, earthy, char, nice hit of maple, baker's chocolate, black coffee, molasses, slightly toasty, a touch of peppery spice, and closes with a little burnt sugar.
M: Full body, mild to moderate carbonation, creamy.
O: This gives off the vibes of taking a sip of coffee after eating a bite of syrup drenched pancakes, in a good way. Rather than be almost cloyingly sweet like some maple pastry stouts can get, this is far more balanced with enough bitterness to keep everything in check. That being said, I think lowering the bitterness just a touch would smooth it out a bit and let the maple really sing on the finish.

These were a bit hyped when I came through, seemed like the beer everyone was talking about or purchasing. Always the contrarian, I was less than impressed.
Hefty brown color and viscosity, while its not porter or stout thick, it definitely looks like it weighs in close to the heavyweight category. Lighter brown head 1/4". Aroma smelled real nice, all that vanilla, pancake batter and sweet syrup going on in a big way. Will it turn out delicious like CBS or will it be too much like Double Stack? The latter unfortunately.
Taste is a big ol 2010 joke about beetus that is still floating around. Like, for an ounce or two you're like, oh wow, this is crazy, but it smells really good, so I like it, I can drink. But around the 2oz mark, the palate is already fatigued and my body is going into some kind of sugar shock. Body is relatively light and carbonation is up there to keep it from being overly hefty or sticky. I dunno, sometimes I'm all about that sweet pancake life, but on this day in question, I was not. Base beer destroyed by adjuncts.

Dark brown with a ruby tinge, moderate carbonation and a finger of beige head.
Smells like a brown ale, with hints of molasses, brown sugar, and something that unfortunately reminds me of a cheap China brew I used to have in Kunming. I got a hint of maple on the 5th wiff.
The taste follows the nose. Basically an ok, somewhat stout like brew with a fruity, wierd quality and hints of maple syurp.
Medium, slightly sticky body with moderate to high carbonation.
I got this in Redding, and am drinking it May 1st, 2019. Stick to IHOP if pancakes and syrup is what you are looking for.

Not a big fan of brown ales, but this is a good one. A hint of maple sweetness on the nose and taste. I think I was expecting a little more in the nose and taste departments. It covers the 9.7 ABV very well, though...a little thin on finish.

Had high hopes for this brew. Poured almost Cola like with matching carbonation you would expect from a can of Coke. Taste was there, almost a buttery pancake like flavor. This thing is sweet!! I set it down on my leather coach and accidentally forgot about it for maybe 10 mins between sips and the glass adhered to the couch like cement!! Something in the brew(I think sweetness) was messing with me and gave me some acid reflux....overall tasty, but probably wouldn't seek out.

From tasting notes 02/23/17
Had on-tap at New Glory Brewing in Sacramento, CA
Appearance - 8oz pour in a 16oz snifter. Ruby auburn in color with tan, broken layer of suds. Good lacing with plenty of spotting covering the glass. 4
Smell - Aroma hits on nuttiness and sweet maple character. Powdered sugar. Maybe psychosomatic, but also pancake batter? To put it plainly, it smells like a pancake covered in maple syrup.
Taste - Follows the nose. Lots of maple sweetness, but also nutty earthiness. Underlying sweet bread notes. Faint toast notes. Finishes nutty with a hint of that maple trailing behind.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Slick texture makes for an easy drinker.
Overall - What can I say? They went for a gimmick and they nailed it. A bit on the sweet side, but not cloying, much like a pancake breakfast. While it's not quite up my alley, I appreciate the creativity and ability to pull it off.
