Hellooo Citra and Amarillo! These fresh fine hops pair together harmoniously to give this double IPA a huge flavor blast of pineapple, mango, and sweet mandarin. It's like a tropical citrus marmalade in beer form, if you will.

American Double IPA brewed with a special blend of Pacific Northwest hops and fermented with our expressive ale yeast for a huge blast of pineapple, mango, and sweet mandarin. Packaged in it's purest form. Unrefined and unfiltered. For optimum experience, store cold and drink fresh.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and leaves plenty of thick lacing.

S: Citrus juice leads, backed with light tropical and stone fruit, a hint of melon, floral notes, slight spicy herbal tones, lightly toasty bready malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Citrus, big orange juice, plus a little lemon and grapefruit, tropical and stone fruit, mango, peach, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, and faint melon, floral notes, slightly dank earthy herbal notes, lightly toasty bready malt, and rich caramel sweetness.

M: On the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation, fairly soft on the palate.

O: By happy accident I grabbed this out of the fridge right after another hazy Citra/Amarillo DIPA from a different brewery. Fortunately, this one is distinctly different from my previous beer so I don't feel like I'm drinking more of the same.
Citrus takes the lead here with a nice tropical stone fruit backer and subtle earthy herbal side, all built on a a strong bready malt backbone. Kinda like new school hopping techniques meet old school DIPA malt bill.

Bought a 4 pack after having it on tap at the brewery. The sticker is in a pretty iconic (the iconics are one of the cooler tag teams in pro wrasslin' btw) party location out here on the river in BFE.

Pours a cloudy yellow similar to many of their offerings with a 1/3" white head. Mixture of citrus and tropical fruit smells, not huge, but present and enjoyable. For whatever reason, they only speak of a mixture of northwest hops. Hmmm.

Taste wise, I think there is perhaps some Cascade or Falconer's Flight going on here. Its a good fit. The beer hides the alcohol immensely well, makes for an even more fun down by the river (the underground tunnel under I80). Carbonation always in the ideal range with these products. There are elements of the citrus and pineapple, but there is just as much grapefruit and pine alongside that. One thing I like that brewer's have been doing is using older school hops with the hazy ipa style, I think that is what we have here in part, and it works.

Canned release 11/01/17

Appearance - Pours hazy and dirty straw yellow in color with an off-white, finger width head. Fair retention, resulting in a thin, broken layer of suds with a solid ring around the edge of the glass. A few broken lines and spots for the lacing.

Smell - Mango, mild orange and pineapple, hints of pine.

Taste - Follows the nose. Juicy mango and lesser orange with a touch of pineapple zing. Faint pine dank. Distant bready sweetness. Finishes with the aforementioned fruitiness before a slight acidity lingers in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Easy drinker before a semi-dry, slightly chalky finish.

Overall - A pretty good unfiltered, NE-Style DIPA. A bit more mellow than I like for the style, but it's still tasty. For the price though, I'm not sure I'd be tempted to buy it again.
