This is New Trick a collaboration between New Glory out of Sacto and Sudwerk out of Davis, California, specializing in German lagers. This beer was released during Sacramento Beer Week (#SBW) and I received it as part of a share, after asking a Sacto native to pick me up some new beers.
This pours a cloud, bright straw color with a nice, full one finger head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass.
Aroma is dominated by a dankness with very little tropical fruitiness generated by the Mosaic and Galaxy hops. Maybe a slight hint of passion fruit and pineapple with a possible spice (anise?) characteristic.
At 6.8% ABV is present, but not overbearing. There is a dankness in the taste that follows the nose. Not really hoppy but not much tropical fruit, but finish with a hint of spice.
