Had on tap at New Glory in Sacramento, CA
Appearance - 10.5oz pour into a tulip, with a quarter finger, light tan head. Black with dark cola brown edging where light can penetrate. Settles to a thin, broken layer of suds. Lacing decorates the glass in broken webbing and a few small spots.
Smell - The aroma is roasty and chocolatey with a bit of underlying cinnamon and vanilla.
Taste - Follows the nose. Roasty malts and chocolate upfront and throughout. Cinnamon comes through shortly after and rides the undertone. Mild vanilla sweetness emerges in the finish. Light Milk chocolate character lingers in aftertaste with faint roast and cinnamon spice.
Mouthfeel - On the thinner side of full bodied with light, tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a crisp, slightly dry and belly warming finish.
Overall - Pretty darn tasty spiced imperial stout, but churro? Not so much. Maybe that's a good thing though.
