Had on tap at New Glory in Sacramento, CA
Appearance - 10.5oz pour into a tulip, pitch black with a barren surface and a razor thin, broken ring around the edge of the glass. No lacing, but none expected.
Smell - Sweet, bourbony booze aroma with prominent oak, honey and vanilla character. Lesser chocolate rides beneath.
Taste - Follows the nose. Boozy upfront before a huge dose of honey sweetness emerges mid-taste. Mild hints of oak and chocolate emerge in the finish as the honey sweetness dies down. A bit of nuttiness lingers in the aftertaste, in addition to booziness, chocolate and continuing honey.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied with low carbonation. Thick, syrupy texture. Dry, warming finish.
Overall - I wasn't a big fan of the the other Infinite Void variants, but I had hope for this one. Unfortunately this drinks a bit hot and the honey character is still a prominent characteristic. In short, it's a sweet, hot mess. It's not terrible, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. Maybe over time it'd mellow out into something nice, but this wasn't bottled or canned, so maybe we'll never know.
