From tasting notes 08/10/18
Had on-tap at New Glory Brewery in Sacramento, CA
Appearance - Served up in a pint, hazy and pinkish orange with a mostly barren surface abd a razor thin ring around the edge of the glass. No lacing.
Smell - Wheat-like malt on the nose with a hint of orange and vanilla.
Taste - Follows the nose, though orange plays a bigger role. Wheat-like maltiness and the hints of vanilla give an almost graham cracker like sweetness while the orange starts sweet but end with a hint tang, especially in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with fair carbonation. Smooth, light creamy drinker with an easy finish.
Overall - Maybe my expectations were too high, but this didnt really do it for me. Not as much 'orange creamsicle' as it is a classic cream ale with fair notes of creamsicle. This should probably be applauded. Def the best cream ale I've had. Most are boring.
