Pours a nice lighter golden color. Semi clear. The head is 2 1/2 finger, white, quite frothy and has a very sticky lacing on the side of the glass. The head retention is excellent.
The nose is nice and hoppy. Pineapple, grapefruit, mango.
Taste - Is very muted up front, almost mellow. The hops don't kick in till the backside. There's some of the citrus mentioned on the nose, but it's a lot lighter than I'd expect.
The body is decent. I do like the thickness. I was expecting the hops to linger more.
Delicious beer, but I was expecting a bit more in the hops department. They were very light, and mellow.

Appearance - Pours with a light haze and golden in color with an off-white, finger width head. Fair retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of suds, thickening up at the edge of the glass. Fair lacing with some broken webbing, lines and small spotting.

Smell - Moderate aroma with hints of citrus, spice, earthy dank, floral character and toasted bread.

Taste - Follows the nose. Nice blend of hop notes with orange and grapefruit finding the forefront before lesser floral, spice and dank earthiness kick in. Solid, lightly toasty malt sweetness. Hint of melon sneaks in once the brew warms. Finish is clean but with traces of citrus; faint dank sitting beneath that.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a smooth, crisp and refreshing finish.

Overall - Simcoe doesn't always do it for me, but I'll be damned if it work for me here. This beer may not wow you, but in the least I think you'll find a nicely layered and balanced flavor profile that goes down smooth and easy.

L - 2-finger medium density bright white head atop a shimmering yellow body.

S - earthy, grapefruit, damp grass, pine.

T - piney, bitter grapefruit rind with just a whif of dank. Grassy middle. No meatiness from this Citra. Moderate bitterness. No sweetness. Low booziness.

F - medium body with higher than normal carb.

O - a very interesting combo of east coast and west coast elements. It looks west coast, smells west coast, but tastes NE style apart from the higher bitterness. I love the balance they achieved here. And best can design of the year!

Can dated 10/1/18 into a tulip.

A very dank and earthy West Coast IPA. Some tropical fruits elements show in the taste, though subtle in relation to the dankness. Nice bitterness that isn't palate crushing but very pleasurable. Very easy drinking with crisp finish for a 7+% IPA. Will augment this review once the beer has a week or more on it. Out of the gate, I definitely dig it!
