From tasting notes 10/16/18
Had on-tap at New Glory in Sacramento, CA
Appearance - Served up in a nonic pint, hazy and mellow orange in color with a mostly barren surface and a fair ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Not much for lacing; a few broken lines and a handful of tiny spots.
Smell - Interesting aroma. Fragrant floral notes with fruity tartness, lesser citrus and faint pine.
Taste - Follows the nose. Tart and floral character upfront, then some tangerine-like citrus kicks in. Faint dank undertone; emerges in the aftertaste. Tartness dies down in the finish, giving way to some fruity spice and pineapple bite.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with bitey carbonation. Smooth drinker, with a crisp, dry and refreshing finish.
Overall - I cant recall the last time I had a beer this unique in its layered tropical fruit profile. The added puree obviously helps, but its not so dominating that it kills the 'beer' in this beer. I can respect that.
