Appearance - Pours dark cola brown with a light tan, near finger width head. Dissipates rather quickly, leaving a near barren surface and a razor thin, broken ring of suds encircling the edge of the glass. Good amount of lacing which decorates the glass in broken webbing.
Smell - Light but complex aroma, hitting on notes of chocolate, vanilla, peanuts and caramel.
Taste - Prominent milk chocolate and lesser caramel with a nice underlying peanut flavor. Hint of vanilla sweetness. Finish adds a touch of roast, doing well to balance out some of that sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with low, tingly carbonation. Dry finish. Drinks smooth enough for a 12.5% brew.
Overall - I drank my first can shortly after release, and there were horrible off-flavors of soy sauce and burnt malts. I'm glad I sat on the other 3 for a month, as it's drinking much better now. The flavors are more cohesive and the horrible notes have diminished significantly. It's still not a world beater, but I can actually enjoy it now.
