Collaboration with Moksa Brewing Co

Imperial Pastry Stout brewed in collaboration with our friends at Moksa Brewing Co. It’s brewed with heaps of marshmallows and dark Belgian candi sugar; conditioned on cacao nibs and vanilla beans. Indulge now, or age for later.

From tasting notes 12/07/18
Had on tap at New Glory Eatery in Rocklin, CA

Appearance - Served up in a 10.5oz tulip, pitch black with a mostly barren surface and a fair ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Fair lacing, with broken lines and a handful of spots.

Smell  - Strong milk chocolate aroma. Vanilla. Maybe even a hint of nuttiness in there. Light booziness.

Taste - Follows the nose. Milk chocolate bomb with accompanying vanilla sweetness. Toffee. Mild sugar sweetness; somehow avoids being cloying. Aftertaste is chocolate and toffee with a slightly boozy bite.

Mouthfeel - On the lighter side of full-bodied with low, tingly carbonation. Slick, creamy texture before a dry, sticky and warming finish. Smooth as hell for 15.5%

Overall - Really good brew, but seems like it needs another component to make it shine, because its kinda one dimensional as is. A hint of tartness or fruit. Blackberry? Or some earthen tones. Some kind of nut? Regardless, impressively smooth at such a high ABV.

This is my favorite Stout. Very Smooth and very drinkable for 15.5% ABV beer. Great depth! Creamy smooth, marshmallow taste with a faint chocolatey finish...thick, rich, and hides alcohol to very end! Beautiful! A collaboration between New Glory and Moksa Brewing...keep up the good work guys and brew up another batch and release some more cans! The first batch went way to quick!

Tastes like a banana split covered in Hershey's syrup. Alcohol is well hidden.
