Thanks to leftpaw for hooking up a can of this, I missed the release or something. This shit gets the party started.
Pours a yellow color like almost every other hoppy beer they make, unfiltered, light haze, 1/4" white head. Aroma is an older school dry hop, led by the OG Amarillo. Has both a pine, bark, orange and grapefruit edge to the nose.
Taste is a nice blend of older school and proprietary hops for bittering, Simcoe and Centennial give a hearty bitterness that isn't excessive to help bouy the big triple ipa amounts of alcohol going on. Really does make double digit pretty drinkable. Wasn't a challenge at all. The Centennial comes in equal parts green forest and mild popsickle stick like woodiness matching up with what the pale barley body needed. Usual neutral yeast contributes nothing, which is fine, that isn't what this beer is about.
Its not quite Pliny the Younger, but its definitely created in its shadow. With the punch it packs, its actually a can of beer I wouldn't hesitate to grab at $5 a can. Its a party in a can.

From tasting notes 11/21/18
Had on-tap atĀ New Glory Eatery & Taproom in Granite Bay, CA
Appearance - Served up 5oz into a snifter, very light haze and golden in color with a thin, broken layer of suds and a decent ring around the edge of the glass. Not much for lacing, save a handful of spots.
SmellĀ - Getting notes of orange, pineapple, earth, pine and a touch of cattiness.
Taste - Starts off with orange rind and a hint of grapefruit, then gets big on earth, fresh pine and lesser floral hoppiness. Mostly earthy finish with a hint if citrus lingering.
Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a crisp, dry finish. Stupid smoothness for 10.5%. 4.5
Overall - Well made triple that drinks smooth as hell, but its a bit too earthy for my me to love completely. Not unexpected considering the hops used.
