From tasting notes 6/21/19
Had on-tap at New Glory Eatery in Granite Bay, CA
Appearance - Served up in a 10.5oz tulip, black with cola brown edging and a thin, broken layer of suds on top. Fair lacing, with broken webbing and small spotting.
Smell - Chocolate and vanilla mostly, with hints of peanut butter and bourbony booze.
Taste - More bourbony sweetness than the nose leads on, with a fair chocolatey base and lesser peanut butter. Vanilla rises to the top mid-taste before dying down toward the finish, leaving that mostly bourbon sweetness with fading chocolate, pb and vanilla notes.
Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with low carbonation. Silky, creamy texture makes this a damn smooth and easy drinker, and at 14.8% leaves, remarkably, only a bit of warmth.
Overall - One of New Glory's best stouts to date. So damn smooth for near 15%. Wish I had grabbed a can or two; this should age wonderfully.
