We had a stout night back in the Spring of 21 when Mom was in town. This was one of those beers.
Pours black out the can into some Sour Sunday tulips. Head is noticeably beige moreso than brown. 1/2" in range. Small bubbles. Good retention. The aroma had what I would say was almost chocolate and peanut butter pretzel aspect to it.
Taste reduced the peanut thought impression by half, saltiness moved higher. Still plenty of sweet chocolate notes. Weird hybrid of like alcohol and bitterness in the mouth feel, yet still not 'feeling' as strong as the abv indicates. But it wasn't the easiest drink in the world either. Just didn't have the desired smoothness you would hope for in an adjunct stout. I think the saltiness kinda clashed with the drinkability, that trick works well in a gose, I dunno about an imperial stout.
I think it was made along the lines of what they were shooting for, but just not my cup of beer. Perhaps I'll revisit if its on tap, dunno if I want another 16oz of it.

Salty sweet, chocolate and almost bready (pretzels) nose. Taste follows with a salty sweet choco vibe on the finish. The saltiness lingers a bit on the palate. It has good depth and feel.
