Another sampling from the November 2019 visit to the Granite Bay location. These dudes are quickly gaining my hard earned respect in the pastry stout game.
Pours black, lighter than brown head, coming in a light tan/beige, 1/2". Aroma hit all the standard adjunct notes, chocolate, vanilla and coffee.
Taste was a massive amount of coffee first, vanilla then chocolate. Doesn't come off bitter, roasty, this one lays on the vanilla big time to keep it smooth, good sweetness, helps push the huge alcohol amount through just as good as say Bruery (comes to mind when I think massive beer that drinks easier than it should). Its strong, but not as strong as you might think from the mouth feel, more silky than hot. It seems like they have a few of these way past double digit abv pastry stouts around, every one I've had has been really good to great. This was no different. The real deal, with Moksa seeming to be the fanboy fave in the area, these stouts cruise relatively below the radar.

From tasting notes 8/10/19
Had on-tap at New Glory in Rocklin, CA
Appearance - Served up 10.5oz into a tulip like glass. Black with cola brown edging. Thin, broken layer of suds. Broken lines and small spotting make up the lacing.
Smell - Chocolatey and coffee dominant aroma, with lesser vanilla and cream sweetness.
Taste - Follows the nose. Coffee and cream hit first, then subside to a deep chocolatey base. Touch of bourbony booze in the finish. Aftertaste is hints of coffee, chocolate and lingering booze.
Mouthfeel - Near full in body with low carbonation. Smooth, surprisingly slick texture with a stupid easy, slightly dry finish. Hard to believe this is 15.5%.
Overall - Another killer pastry stout from New Glory. They've come a long way since Inifinite Void.
