Canned 07/17/20

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and golden yellow in color with a white, finger width head that displays fair retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of suds and a thin ring around the edge of the glass. A few small patches and small spotting makes up the lace.

Smell - Bright citrus with a hint of tropical character. Whiffs of bread sitting beneath.

Taste - Bright, citrusy flavor. Lesser pineapple. Bready malt backbone. Green pine and a hint of guava mid-taste. Finish adds some pith and a touch of grassy bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with healthy carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a crisp, slightly dry finish.

Overall - Light, bright and refreshing pale. This one's a winner.

Had this in November 2019 at the Granite Bay location. Was the first beer I had there for this trip, gotta get those new beers in before you destroy the palate.

Pours a light yellow color with moderate haze. 1/2" white head. Aroma was the best part of this beer, nothing but more of the same here, Citra and Mosaic do their familiar but damn good sweet tangerine and guava push here.

Taste is bouyed by a nice Simcoe bitterness but with the aroma hops you can still taste plenty of fruity hop notes over a completely neutral yeast. The body does the usual stuff, keeps it from being too bitter, too heavy, sticky, but also doesn't devolve into a watery trub trap of some gloop glub pale ales. Its one of those beers that literally, there are a hundred other examples in Northern California, but you wouldn't imitate something that sucked, so while this is an entirely familiar venture in pale ale hoppiness, its also a real good one. Doesn't reinvent the wheel, but you can roll with the homies to this all day.
