Canned 08/31/20
Appearance - Pours with a slight haze, golden in color with a white, half-finger width head. Sub-par retention results in a mostly barren surface. No lacing.
Smell - Really strong on the bready malt, in fact picking up some cardboard too. Some citrusy hops? Mostly dead.
Taste - Follows the nose. Hops that have a vague citrus taste to them, but being seriously undercut by stale bread /cardboard like notes.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with low-to fair carbonation. Drinks smooth and easy enough, though it finishes a tad flat.
Overall - I'm not sure what's happening with this beer. I've had enough 6-10 month old IPAs to know what one tastes like, and this fits the profile perfectly; this is less than a month old. Maybe a problem in the canning process? I respect New Glory's ability to brew an IPA well enough to know this couldn't have been the aim and/or what it tasted like days after it was released.
