Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and leaves some nice light lacing.
S: Ripe tropical and stone fruit, juicy citrus, a little grassy, earthy herbal slightly sulphur-y notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Tropical and stone fruit, guava, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, lychee, papaya, mango, peach, and a hint of melon, some citrus, orange and a little lemon, earthy kinda sulphur-y notes from the HBC-586, a bit grassy, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, a bit chewy.
O: Let's get this out of the way early: "West Coast" does not belong on this label. No where near enough bitterness and way too much sweetness and body. It sits somewhere in the hazy/juicy camp. In that space, it's not bad. There are definitely some unique elements to its flavor that slowly grew on me. Wouldn't turn down another pint if it was placed in front of me, but if it's my choice I'd probably move on to something else.
