This chocolate-forward stout delivers a decadent blend of rich cacao nibs, perfectly balanced with creamy vanilla and marshmallow flavors. Subtle notes of toffee linger the background, bringing a rich, caramelized depth to every sip. It's the perfect frosty delight for those who prefer their hot cocoa cold, and in a can!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours dark mahogany with a frothy cocoa brown head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little nice lacing.

S: Milk chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, roasty, toasty, slight char, a touch of dark fruit, hints of cola, and caramel toffee sweetness.

T: Smooth roasty malt, milk chocolate, vanilla bean, and marshmallow all show up, just a touch of char, diner coffee, a little underlying dark fruit, plum, date, and raisin, hints of cola, and some caramel toffee sweetness.

M: Medium body, mild to moderate carbonation, a bit chewy and creamy.

O: Not sure how this one managed to hide in my fridge for a full year, but I found it and here we are. I gotta say, for a moderate strength stout it's held up quite nicely. The chocolate and vanilla come through nicely, and it's definitely got some depth, though the marshmallow feels slightly artificial. Hopefully they bring this one back so I can revisit it fresh, but for now, even with a little age on it, it's a nice winter treat.

im still a newcomer to these guys, just had a few so far, but ive liked what ive been able to drink, and was quite impressed with this stout, which sounds on paper like it would be diabetic with vanilla, chocolate, and marshmallow, but its actually balanced and drinkable, in part on account of the robustness of the roast and its bitter balance, nice low end here, coffee and dark nib type cocoa, less sweetened, less rich in the middle, nice construction here. going for a hot chocolate vibe and nailing it pretty well even without this being outwardly milky and sweet that way, its earthy adult chocolate, and quite a lot of the marshmallow in aroma and in flavor, like actual puffy marshmallows, the best part of the cup of cocoa of course, just delicious in here, an ingredient i am usually dubious about in beer, but its downright essential here, and i would argue it also makes this, love it! the vanilla isnt overdone and thats a key, and the base beer is very well refined, smooth but not heavy, silky and shiny and very clean on the ferment, and balanced with the bitter roast, exceptional proportions and this isnt too desserty to drink a lot of. the chocolate is awesome in here, and the restrained sweetness with how forward the marshmallow is blows my mind. smooth and almost sensual, warms up well, better than the vast majority of beers trying to do something similar, and ideal for chilly winter weather. heck of a beer right here, fantastic use of the adjuncts, far ahead of the curve...
