Started drinking craft beer in 1984. Guess what? I'm an old guy and old guys simply can't handle the rocket fuels. Norm's Gateway IPA comes in at 4% ABV. Where I live it also comes in at near a buck a beer and is widely available. Really nice to have a great tasting 4% IPA for a buck a can. The competitive session IPA's are good but in terms of value, Griffin Claw's Gateway IPA is top of my list.

Kind of looks like ginger ale with its grayish tinted golden color. Large head forms before settling back to a thick cap. A little bit of lacing is left down the glass. Herbal and resiny aroma with subtle citrus hints. Extremely bitter for what little hop flavor is available. Surprisingly has a nice malt base to work off of. Some herbal and grassy hop flavors do eventually come through in the finish. It is a clean beer so I appreciate that and shows that the brewer has some skill. Light body and appropriated carbonated. Fits well with this low ABV beer.
Like a lot of Michigan breweries, I cannot find a canning date on the can so no idea if this is fresh or old. So I gotta assume this is a day out of the brewery.
