Picked this up because of the Detroit Tigers connection. Pours a pale yellow with a minimal foamy head that disappears quickly. No discernable aroma. Taste is light and a bit sweet. Smooth and crisp; light bodied with a medium amount of carbonation.

I picked up a can of Griffin Claw's Clubhouse for $2.09 at The Lager Mill. It's been a little while since I've tried a new Cream Ale and I'm interested to see how this one turn out, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a tall pint can into a imperial pint glass.
A- It poured a pretty clear pale yellow color that takes on a little more of a straw yellow color when held to the light with a little over a fingers worth of creamy off white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it left a little bit of patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking Cream Ale, I have no complaints.
S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with a little bit of a creamy aroma being the first to show up along with some doughy yeast and lots of grainy and pale malt aromas with some biscuit and bready like aroma. This beer has a pretty nice aroma and it's what I would expect for the style.
T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma, but it's a little lighter and it starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with that same creamy aspect being the first to show up and it's just a little lighter than it was in the aroma and it goes into the doughy yeast. Up next comes the malts which are little lighter than they were in the aroma, but they impart those same aspects that they did in the aroma. On the finish there's a slight bit of bitterness along with some creamy sweetness that lingers into the aftertaste along with a little bit of grainy flavor. This is a pretty nice Cream Ale and it's true to style.
M- Smooth, crisp, very clean, a little creamy, on the fuller side of being light bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. This beer has a nice mouthfeel that works well with this beer.
Overall I thought this was a nice beer and a nice example of the style, it had all the aspects that I expect from the style, but when it came down to it the flavors seemed to be on the lighter end for the style, which isn't my favorite, but it makes sense if they plan on serving it a lot at the Ballpark. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple, but after that I would get bored with it. What I like the most about this beer is that is was very true to style, there wasn't anything that didn't belong. What I like the least about this beer is that flavors weren't just a little bolder. I might buy this beer again and I wouldn't turn one down. I can't say it's a must try, but if you like your cream ales a little on the lighter side than this might be a good choice. All in all I liked this beer, but I think if it had a little more flavor it would be even better. It's not a favorite Griffin Claw beer and it's above average for the style. Nice job guys, this is a solid Cream Ale.

Bought this for the two reasons most anybody got it for Tigers' 2016 Opening Day -- it had a purdy label, and, well, Opening Day. I had this beer a few days ago but was deathly ill and forgot to review it. So based on memory...
I'd say I regret getting a 4-pack, but I think four 16oz cans was $6.39, which isn't too bad, really. What is bad -- or sort of bad -- is the beer itself. It's simply mediocre. To be fair, it's also what I expected. This is really just a slightly more expensive Genny Cream Ale. There's a heavy adjunct flavor to this beer, of course, and unfortunately not much else. It smells a fair bit like corn syrup, and that's mostly what it tastes like as well. Goes down easy and "is what it is"... that's really all I can say for it.
Personally, I think this beer would be better if Griffin Claw nitro'd the cans. That seems like a missed opportunity to me, but oh well. A beer worth choosing during a Tigers game (or Wings, Lions, or Pistons if they change the logo over the course of a year), but absolutely nothing I'd want for any other reason.
